Andrea A. Resendiz Gomez

Media & Production Coordinator

Andrea A. Resendiz Gomez (she/they), also known as MartianCum, is a queer Mexican multidisciplinary artist from the Bronx. Currently based in the Bronx and Brooklyn looking to expand to the West Coast.

Andrea holds a BFA with a specialization in sculpture from Lehman College. As a teenager, she participated in Youth Insights at the Whitney Museum of American Art for over three years, which began her career as an arts administrator. The Whitney Museum of American Art, Phillips Auction House, Little Island, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council & NEW INC at the New Museum, are just some of the art institutions to host Andrea. While receiving a fellowship at Modern Art Foundry in 2018, this young artist was able to birth her first bronze sculpture which you can catch on view at The Bronx Art Space early 2023.

Starting with her high school's annual art show, Andrea has shown at Westbeth Gallery, La Mama Galleria, Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in St. Croix US Virgin Islands, Lehman College Art Gallery, and the Bronx Museum of the Arts.

As a young immigrant child, becoming an artist seemed like a far fetched dream which has greatly influenced the passion to create and continue to push for more inclusive and welcoming environments in the arts. Andrea makes it a priority to highlight the twists and curves of queer bodies by capturing the essence of every line, wrinkle and curvature by communicating them through the movements proclaimed.

In January of 2022, Andrea began her career as a tattoo artist with the goal to create a nurturing unique session each time that promotes borderless creative freedom with our skins.
