Tyler Townsend

Tyler is an operations consultant and project manager who believes good systems are an act of care — for the people doing the work and the communities they're trying to reach.

She carries 15 years of NYC — most of it rooted in Fort Greene, Brooklyn — a neighborhood that shaped how she thinks about community, creativity, and what it means to really know your neighbors — in her bones and into her work. Now based in Laguna Beach, CA, that deep connection to people and place never left her, and it's a big part of what drew her to Stoop Stories.

Tyler spent 14 years at Citi, starting in graphic design and technical writing and working her way up to VP, Senior Project Manager in Information Security Training. Her consulting career since has taken her across startups, Fortune 500 companies, government, and nonprofits — giving her a rare range of perspective on how organizations actually work and how to help the people inside them do their best work. Tyler partners with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations to translate ambitious ideas into workable plans, moving fluidly between big-picture strategy and the operational details that make it real.

As Stoop Stories' Director of Strategy & Operations and an advisor to the organization, Tyler helps build the systems that turn big vision into real structure — weaving photo stories, short films, and community activation events across NYC's neighborhoods into programs that are not only beautifully designed, but built to grow. At her core, Tyler is a connector — of people, of ideas, of systems. She's energized by creatives, community builders, and anyone doing the hard, hopeful work of pushing back against loneliness and isolation — one story, one stoop, one neighborhood at a time.

Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland. She loves working with creatives, solving a good puzzle, and connecting with humans, animals, and nature equally. Connect with Tyler on LinkedIn.
